The short version
Toolyard runs its tools entirely inside your web browser. When you compress, convert or resize a file, that file is processed on your own device and is never uploaded to our servers. We can't see your files, store them, or share them — because they never reach us.
Files you process
Any image or file you drop into a Toolyard tool stays on your device. Processing happens locally using your browser. Nothing about the content of your files is transmitted to us or anyone else.
Information we collect
We do not require accounts and we do not ask for personal information. The only information we receive comes from three ordinary sources:
- Hosting logs. The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
- Aggregate analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits, for example which tools and guides are popular. It does not use cookies or track individual visitors across sites.
- Email you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message and address only as long as needed to reply and to follow up.
The site stores one small preference on your device, your light or dark theme choice, in your browser's local storage. It is never sent to us.
Advertising & cookies
This site is supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. You can control or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. Where the law requires it, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we will ask for your consent before non-essential cookies are set.
The tools themselves never share the content of your files with advertisers, because the files never leave your device.
Your rights
Because we hold almost no personal data, there is little to access or delete. If you emailed us and want your message removed, or you have any question about data we may hold about you, write to us and we will respond. Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA may give you additional rights, and we will honor valid requests.

Children's privacy
Toolyard is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
